Sanford, North Carolina Wreck on Rainy Roadway Injures Several
A rainy roadway in Sanford on Thursday night may have contributed to serious wreck on South Horner Boulevard.
The wreck apparently happened when a Suzuki truck lost traction and crossed the center line hitting an oncoming Chevrolet minivan. The driver and a passenger in the Suzuki were injured. The driver of the Chevrolet minivan, William Edward Jones, had more serious injuries including a possible broken leg.
Reports are that the driver of the Suzuki was travelling 50 mph in a 35 mph and that she has been charged for exceeded the safe speed limit.
Indeed, when road conditions are hazardous as was apparently the situation, drivers should use extra caution and are required to drive at a safe speed given the road conditions. Unfortunately for Mr. Jones, the Suzuki driver was not following the speed limit.
