A serious accident on Interstate 40 near Hickory, North Carolina involving a dump truck has resulted in serious injuries to at least one person.
The wreck happened on Interstate 40 east at Exit 123 which is the exit for US Highway 321. According to available information, a car and the dump truck collided. One person was transported by air to Atrium health in Charlotte. At this point, it is not clear what caused the accident. If we learn more information, we will update this post.
