Henderson NC Head-On Collision Results in Serious Injuries
On Friday afternoon in Henderson, NC, a head-on collision has resulted in several serious injuries.
The accident occurred when a Ford Ranger pickup truck crossed the centerline on NC Highway 39 and struck a Chrysler Town and Country Van. Rescue workers had to cut off the roof of the Chrysler in order to remove the driver and passenger. They were both taken to Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC which serves as the area Level 1 trauma center. The driver of the pickup was taken to Maria Parham Hospital.
Apparently charges are pending against the driver of the pickup.
I would expect that the driver of the pickup will be charged with driving left of center. It is unfortunate that this accident happened and you would expect that the medical bills for all three victims will be quite high as a result. Hopefully, there is ample insurance for everyone involved to cover these costs and other damages arising from the serious accident.
