Fatal North Carolina Bus Crash Results in Tightened Rules For U.S. Bus Accident Investigations
A fatal bus accident involving a North Carolina bus company has resulted in tighter rules for bus companies.
The rules adopted by the U.S. Department of Transportation would prevent the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration from granting companies with an unsafe record additional time to fix identified safety problems. This rule change comes after a Sky Express bus from Greensboro, North Carolina killed four people while in the middle of an extension of time to make required repairs.
