Fatal I-40 Wreck May Be Linked to Bad Tires
According to a Raleigh News & Observer report, a tragic wreck on I-40 last month may be the result of bad tires. The wreck claimed the life of Amelia Hernandez-Garcia who got out of her vehicle on the highway and appeared to be experiencing car problems. She was then struck and killed while standing near her vehicle. Now investigators are following up on whether the newly purchased Ford Explorer had tires that malfunctioned and that this was the reason she exited her vehicle. Click here for more.
If the investigation reveals that bad tires were the reason for Ms. Garcia having car problems, then the are many questions I would ask the car dealer. Obviously, did they inspect the tires before selling the Ford Explorer to Ms. Garcia? Where did they get the tires? Were they retreads? Hopefully, answers will be available for this family.
