A bicyclist named Jane Beach was tragically killed on Saturday afternoon while riding her bike near Asheville, North Carolina.
The wreck happened around 5:00 pm on North Carolina Highway 191. According to available information, a woman driving a Buick struck Ms. Beach and then fled the accident scene.
The woman was later apprehended and has been charged with several crimes including driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, and felony hit-and-run.
Ms. Beach was 56 years old and from Columbia, South Carolina. She initially survived the collision and was transported to Mission Hospital in Asheville but tragically did not survive.
