Andrea Walker Killed and Travon Elam Seriously Injured in Gaston, NC Accident
A terrible accident in Gaston, North Carolina has resulted in the death of Andrea Walker and injuries to her fiancee Travon Elam.
The accident happened on Saturday August 9 at around 9:30 pm on NC Highway 46 at the intersection with Gus Smith Road. Apparently, a tow truck pulling a car drifted across the center line and hit the Honda Accord driven by Mr. Elam head-on. Ms. Walker was a passenger in the Honda. It is believed there were other injury victims in this accident – some of whom were transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina which provides trauma service to much of eastern North Carolina.
It is not clear what caused the tow truck driver to drift across the center line but hopefully NC Highway Patrol officers reviewed the cell phone usage for the truck truck driver as the use of cell phones is often the cause of such an accident.
