US 264 Wrong Way Driver Crashes Injuring Abrahim Salama

A gentleman named Abrahim Salama from Raleigh, North Carolina was seriously injured early Sunday morning when he was hit by a driver traveling in the wrong direction on US 264 near Bailey, North Carolina.

The accident happened around 1:00 am. Apparently, a 47 year old man driving a Mazda was travelling eastbound in the westbound lane of 264 when he hit Mr. Salama’s vehicle. The driver of the Mazda did not survive. Mr. Salama was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

This is the second serious wrong-way interstate accident on the highways near Raleigh in the past week. At this point, it remains unexplained why this driver was travelling the wrong direction.
