Tractor Trailer Loses Crates in Bertie County Causing Two Wrecks

We have all seen random debris on the roads and wondered how it got there and why no one has stopped to clean it up. Well, on Thursday morning a tractor-trailer carrying crates was turning right onto NC-11 in Bertie County when it lost two crates.

One crate was hit by a tractor-trailer coming in the other direction. Another crate struck a car at an intersection. The driver of the second tractor-trailer was pinned in his vehicle. the driver of the car was taken to Vidant Health in Ahoskie for treatment.

Obviously, this is scary for anyone driving on the roads of North Carolina. Road debris creates an unusual hazard because it is not what a driver is typically looking for when driving on the road praticularly at night as was this case here. Hopefully, everyone will be OK and the driver of the truck that lost the crates will accept responsibility for this wreck.
