NC DOT Worker David McMillan Seriously Injured When Struck By Vehicle

An employee with the North Carolina Department of Transportation named David McMillan was seriously injured on Monday while he was working along Sunset Orchard Road near North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. According to available information, a woman driving a Toyota Matrix was traveling east on Sunset Orchard Road when she went off the right side of the roadway and struck Mr. McMillan.

Mr. McMillan was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital by Aircare for treatment of serious injuries.

In a case such as this, Mr. McMillan will have several different claims. First he has a claim under the North Carolina workers compensation laws for his work-related injuries. He also has a separate claim against the driver who hit him under the applicable North Carolina laws of the highway.
