Missing Wilson, North Carolina Patient Struck By Car

In a sad situation, a man who was taken to the Wilson Medical Center for a psychocological exam on Wednesday apparently walked away from the hospital only to hit by a car later that evening.

After leaving the hospital, the man was hit while walking on N.C. Highway 42. He has since been taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville where he is in critical condition.

As indicated in the “Comments” under this story, this is a complicated situation and there are many facts which are not known. Was someone supposed to watching this gentlemen while he was at the hospital? How did the wreck occur? Should the hospital have noticed he was missing sooner and triggered a Silver Alert?
