Martha Peterson of Kenly NC Killed by Impaired Driver

A woman named Martha Peterson was driving a daycare van when she was hit by an impaired driver on Barber Mill Road yesterday in Johnston County, North Carolina. The wreck happened just after 4:00 pm when a man driving a Bizzy Bee Plumbing truck hit the daycare van head-on.

The driver of the plumbing truck apparently crossed the center-line. This driver was arrested as the scene and charged with felony death by motor vehicle and driving while impaired.

Ms. Peterson was 39 years-old and from Kenly, North Carolina. There were also several children in the daycare van when the wreck happened. Reports indicate that several of the children were injured but there is no indication regarding the severity of injuries. Hopefully, these kids are all OK.
