Lumberton NC Head-On Accident Results in Fatality and Injuries

A terrible head-on accident near Lumberton NC has resulted in one death and injuries.

The accident happened on Lowe Road when a young woman apparently crossed the center-line and hit a pick-up truck driven by Kenneth Richard Oxendine. The woman driving the car was killed but her two year old child survived as she was apparently secured in a child-safety seat. Mr. Oxendine was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

This is a terrible accident but also a testament to the importance of using child-safety seats. The young two year old child may have had her life saved by the safety seat and that may be the only saving grace of this terrible accident.
