Christian Garcia Killed in Newport NC Accident

A gentleman named Christian Garcia was killed in a terrible accident involving a military vehicle on Tuesday night.

The accident happened on U.S. Highway 70 near the intersection with East Chatham Street. According to available information, a military vehicle pulling a trailer had missed a turn onto Hibbs Road and was trying to make a U-Turn onto the west bound lanes of Highway 70. Apparently, the trailer was long and protruded onto the roadway where it was struck by Mr. Garcia. Mr. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The accident happened around 8:15 pm and it was raining at the time which would have made visibility poor.

This accident is unfortunately something we are quite familiar with at Hendren & Malone. We currently represent the family of a young man killed near Goldsboro when a tractor trailer backed across the road at night. These accidents are frequently called tractor-trailer under-ride wrecks and often result in the tragic death of the on-coming motorist.
