On Tuesday afternoon, a gentleman named Russell Goodson was tragically killed in a scooter crash in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The crash happened as Mr. Goodson was traveling north on Summit Avenue on a Tao-Tao type scooter. Mr. Goodson, who was 73 years old, was transported to a local hospital but tragically did not survive.

A terrible and tragic motorcycle crash on Friday night near Cameron, North Carolina has tragically claimed the lives of a married couple named Ron and Gabi Caplan.
The wreck happened around 8:22 p.m. as the couple were driving home from a local restaurant. According to available information, Ron was driving his beloved Harley Davidson and had slowed for traffic when they were hit from behind by a woman driving a minivan who failed to reduce her speed.
GREENVILLE, NC (May 19,2020) – Donald Ray Bryant Killed in Greenville NC Motorcycle Crash
On Sunday evening a terrible motorcycle crash near Greenville, North Carolina resulted in the death of biker Donald Ray Bryant of Winterville, North Carolina.
The wreck happened on US 264A near the intersection with Boardwalk Lane. According to available information, a woman driving a Ford Taurus made a left hand turn from Boardwalk Lane onto US 264A and crossed the path of Mr. Bryant. Mr. Bryant was thrown from his bike and declared dead at the accident scene.
A young man named Gavin Johnson was tragically killed in a moped crash on Tuesday, November 19, near Franklin, North Carolina.
There is very little information available about this crash other than it involved a pickup truck and Mr. Johnson’s moped. If we learn additional information about what happened in this crash, we will update this post.
A young man named Jacob Rudd was tragically killed in a motorcycle crash in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Sunday afternoon. The wreck happened at the intersection of West Franklin Street and Mallette Street at around 2:30 pm.
The wreck involved an SUV and and Mr. Rudd’s motorcycle and both vehicle apparently burst into flames due to the collision. Mr. Rudd was 18 years old and from Morrisville, North Carolina.
A gentleman named James Wright was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon near Staley, North Carolina. The crash happened on NC Highway 49 at the intersection with Whites Chapel Road at around 3:10 pm.
According to available information, a woman in a Honda SUV started to turn left onto White Chapel Road from NC 49 and then turned back to her right and hit Mr. Wright as he was traveling in the same direction. The impact forced Mr. Wright off the road and he struck a utility pole.
Mr. Wright sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for treatment.
A serious accident involving a Raleigh police car and a scooter happened early on Wednesday morning in northeast Raleigh.
The wreck occurred on Skycrest Drive near the intersection of Hill Street. There is very little information about the accident except that it happened around 3:00 am. As a result of the wreck, the scooter ended up under the front of the police car. Two gentlemen riding on the scooter were killed.
It is not clear how this terrible accident happened. On Thursday night a Raleigh moped driver was seriously injured in a north Raleigh accident.
The accident happened when a car turned into the path of moped driver John Mahaffey. The accident happened on Spring Forest Road near Capital Boulevard. Mr. Mahaffey was critically injured and taken to WakeMed which is the area Level 1 trauma center.
A terrible motorcycle accident in Newport, NC has claimed the life of motorcyclist David Sandmeyer.
This tragic accident happened on Saturday afternoon on NC Highway 24 near Newport, NC. Mr. Sandmeyer was apparently traveling on the roadway near the Pender Park Fuel Market when a pickup truck pulled into his path. Apparently, this location has a history of serious accidents and it is not clear whether a poor roadway design contributed to the wreck.
Mr. Sandmeyer was a 21 year old Marine stationed at Cherry Point and was from Minnesota.
A serious accident on US Highway 17 in Surf City, NC has resulted in injuries to a motorcyclist.
The accident happened on Wednesday afternoon when a DWI driver crossed the median and struck the motorcyclist who was stopped at the light at the intersection of NC 210. The motorcyclist was dragged several hundred feet in the wreck before becoming pinned between two cars. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The DWI driver of the car has been charged with several crimes including felony serious injury with a motor vehicle.
