Felipe McDonald and Chappalle Sutton Injured in Gibsonville NC Tire Blow Out Wreck

A blown tire on a Ford Expedition on Thursday afternoon on Interstate 40 near Gibsonville, North Carolina has resulted in several serious injuries.  The wreck happened at around 3:30 pm near exit 138.  According to available information, a man driving the Ford Expedition lost control of the vehicle after the tire blew out.  The vehicle struck the concrete median and overturned several times.

A passenger, Mr. Felipe McDonald from Durham was ejected during the crash.  He was transported to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro for treatment.  Another passenger, Chappalle Sutton, was also seriously injured and also taken to Moses Cone for treatment.  The driver of the Ford Expedition was taken to UNC Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

At this time, it is not clear why the tire blew out.  If we learn more about this wreck, we will update this story.
