Wrong Way Drunk Driver Causes Serious Wreck on I-40 in Greensboro NC

A very serious wreck on Interstate 40 in Greensboro, North Carolina involving a wrong way driver has resulted in several serious injuries.  The wreck happened around 4:30 am in the eastbound lanes near the Gate City Boulevard exit.

According to available information, the wrong way driver hit a car and then a tractor-trailer overturned as it tried to avoid the wreck.

The initial investigation indicates that the wrong way driver was drunk at the time of the collision.  Apparently, this driver and the driver of the first car that was hit were both seriously injured.  There is no word on charges at this time.
