A 48 year-old man named James Demetrious Smith was tragically killed in an accident on September 22, 2018 in Burgaw, North Carolina. The accident happened on US 117 near Pike Creek Road just after 11:00 pm. According to available information, Mr. Smith was riding in the backseat of a car driven by a man named D’Andre Faison. Mr. Faison apparently crossed the center line of the roadway and hit a Chevrolet pickup head on.
Ms. Smith was killed and a woman in the front passenger seat suffered serious facial injuries. The driver of the pickup was also injured.
There are reports that Mr. Faison had drugs and alcohol in his system at the time of the collision and he has multiple charges pending against him as a result of this collision.
