A terrible accident in Jacksonville, North Carolina on Saturday has claimed the life of Josephine Futrell. According to available information, Ms. Futrell was sitting in her wheelchair and riding in a Ford van when a driver sped to beat the red light at the intersection of Gum Branch Road and Western Boulevard. As a result, the driver hit the rear portion of the Ford van causing Ms. Futrell to be ejected. Ms. Futrell was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina where she passed away the next day.
Charges are pending against the driver who caused this wreck.
