Diana Valle Jimenez and Juan Soriano were apparently standing in front of a mobile home near Lumberton, North Carolina on Saturday when a pickup truck ran off the road and hit them.
The accident happened about 1.7 miles west of Lumberton on Pine Log Road near Watts Road. The driver of the pickup ran off the right side of the road, hit a ditch, overturned and hit Ms. Jimenez and Mr. Soriano. Tragically, Ms. Jimenez was killed and Mr. Soriano was seriously injured.
Other than speed being a possible issue, it is not clear why the truck ran off the side of the road and hopefully NC State Highway Patrol officers will be able to determine more about this serious accident.
