Fatal DWI Wreck Leads to Charges After Death of Unborn Child

An accident in Marion, North Carolina has resulted in what appears to be the first charges against a driver for killing an unborn child.

The accident happened on Seagle Street and totaled a car driven by an 18 year old girl.  Apparently, the other driver was intoxicated and crossed the center line seriously injuring the young girl.  Due to her injuries, her unborn baby was lost.  The drunk driver faces numerous charges and is being held in the McDowell County jail.
