Lillington NC Head-On Collision Kills One Man

A gentlemen from Eden, NC was killed on Wednesday following a head-on collision near Lillington, NC.

The accident happened on NC Highway 421 when a Ford pickup truck crossed the centerline and struck a Chevrolet van.  The gentlemen from Eden was driving the van and he did not survive the crash.  He was apparently a retired State Highway Patrol officer.

The driver of the Ford pickup has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.  The Ford driver apparently swerved into the oncoming lane to avid traffic that had slowed in front of him.
