Logging Truck Rear Ends Driver Carl Hall on Highway 17

Carl Hall of Leland, North Carolina was injured on Highway 17 near Leland after a logging truck rear-ended his car.

The accident happened apparently due to the truck driver failing to reduce speed as the truck approached an intersection.  The truck driver, who was only 21 years old, has been cited in the wreck.  Mr. Hall has been hospitalized with head injuries.

This wreck causes me to ask a number of questions.  Primarily, was a 21 year old adequately trained to drive a tractor trailer loaded with logs?

Hopefully, Mr. Hall will recover but head injuries can be life altering.  Finding adequate medical care will be critical and the cost of treating a head injury can be significant.
