A gentleman named George McKeachan died Friday after he was tased following an incident at a convenience store in Parkton, North Carolina. Mr. McKeachan was a resident of the Green Manor Rest Home and he was apparently tased at the rest home after police caught up with him. Prior to being tased, he apparently had a confrontation at a convenience store on Highway 301.
This is a terrible story and poses several questions. Most particularly, was it necessary to use a taser on this gentlemen under these circumstances? The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating this incident and hopefully there will be answers for the McKeachan family.
