Hit-And-Run Driver Kills Elderly Woman in Clemmons, North Carolina

I just read about a terrible accident on Friday evening has claimed the life of an elderly woman in Clemmons, North Carolina.  The accident apparently happened when a car pulled in front of another car on highway NC 150.  The second driver, Scott Choplin was forced to swerve to avoid an accident but ended up hitting 77 year old Mary Nelson head-on.  Tragically, Ms. Nelson did not survive the wreck and Mr. Choplin was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The vehicle that forced Mr. Choplin to swerve fled the scene and is said to possibly be a maroon Kia Optima.  The driver apparently got out of the car and then left the scene.  Anyone with information about this wreck and the suspect vehicle is asked to call the NC Highway Patrol at 336-249-0247.
