A woman was apparently struck by a golf cart at the Carolina Trace community in Sanford causing serious head injuries. The accident apparently happened on Thursday afternoon and the victim was taken by helicopter to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

We certainly hope that the victim is OK from this wreck. This type of accident poses many questions – who was driving the golf cart and do they have insurance?; what type of insurance applies to a wreck such as this? was the location of the wreck marked in such a way as to indicate whether golf carts should be using the area or was it a pedestrian only area?
