Driver Hits New Bern Motorcyclist Then Flees Scene

A New Bern, North Carolina motoryclist was seriously injured on Sunday when a car crossed into his path.

The wreck happened on N.C. 55 on Sunday morning.  As a result, motorcyclist Robert Venneri was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina for treatment of his serious injuries.

Police are still looking for the driver of the 2004 Ford Taurus that caused the wreck.  Apparently, the Ford Taurus was pulling out from the Mallard Food Shops and was last seen headed towards New Bern.
