Electrical Problem With Refrigerator At Fault For Fatal Jacksonville, North Carolina Fire

A terrible fire that resulted in the death of three children in Jacksonville, North Carolina was apaprently the result of an electrical problem with a refrigerator.

The fire happened last week and caused the death of three children including one girl who died while trying to save her younger brothers.  The cause of the fire was investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation, the federal bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.  These agencies determined the cause was an electrical malfunction of the refrigerator.

This terrible fire is one of the worst in recent North Carolina memory and the Pittman family has our deepest sympathies.

Under North Carolina law, a defective product such as a refrigerator may create liability for the manufacturer of the refrigerator.  However, there are time limitations for bringing such a case and it is important to investigate such claims quickly.
