Vehicle Fleeing Checkpoint Wrecks Killing Two and Injuring One

On Friday night the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol set up a driver’s license checkpoint on US 158 in Reidsville.

Apparently, a 1993 Ford Mustang approached the checkpoint and then speed away ultimately wrecking at high speed. The car hit a culvert, two trees, overturned and caught fire. The driver of the car was killed as was one passenger, April Visaya. Another passenger, Kimberly Valdez, was seriously injured.
