I recently came across an article discussing a terrible wreck last week in Spring Lake, North Carolina. Apparently, construction vehicles routinely speed through downtown Spring Lake and last week a dump truck from South Carolina hit a minivan killing Lashanda Mann-Pendergraft. The dump truck was apparently speeding on N.C. 210 when the wreck happened.
Apparently, the dump trucks are traveling to and from a quarry north of Spring Lake. In this case, the driver has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
