A terrible wreck on Saturday morning in a Smithfield Walmart parking lot has resulted in at least one death and several injuries.
The wreck apaprently happened when an elderly gentlemen driving a pickup hit three pedestrians. One of the pedestrians, Lois Shannon, died from her injuries. Two other pedestrians, Debra Holmes and Jeanna Holley, were taken to Johnston Memorial Hospital with injuries.
Based on reports, police were still investigating the wreck to determine whether the driver was at fault or whether there was equipment failure involved.
