On Saturday, a terrible wreck on Highway 17 near Vanceboro, North Carolina resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to several other people.
The wreck apparently happened when a woman from Pennsylvania crossed the center line and struck a car driven by Jeannette Beakes of Washington, North Carolina. Ms. Beakes was seriously injured as was her passenger, Bill White. A passenger in the other car, Paul Gardner, was also seriously injured. Unfortunately, the woman driver from Pennsylvania did not survive.
