Mount Airy Woman Struck While Standing On Side of Road

In an interesting and sacry story, a Mount Airy woman was standing along the side of Highway 52 when she was struck by a minivan that ran off the road.  Apparently, the woman, Eden Draughn, was waiting to cross the road to get to a grocery store at a location that is frequently crossed by pedestrians.  Despite serious injuries, Ms. Draughn is recovering.  She is hoping this wreck will prompt the NCDOT or city of Mount Airy to make the crossing safer.
