According to a recent article I read, one North Carolina county experienced fewer fatal traffic wrecks and fewer injury wrecks in 2010 compared to 2009.  Burke County has seven traffic related fatalities in 2010 compared with 10 in 2009.  The county had 432 injury accidents in 2010 compared to 473 injury accidents in 2010.

Statewide, there were 968 traffic fatalities in 2010 which includes 85 pedestrians, 11 bicyclists and 127 motorcyclists.  Alcohol was a factor in 190 of the deadly crashes.
