Deer Hunter Accidently Shoots Man, John Strickland, and His Son

In unfortunate incident near McLeansville, North Carolina, a deer hunter who apaprently was tracking a deer instead shot 38 year old John Strickland and his son.  The hunter, John Warden of Burlington, is apparently a cousin of Mr. Strickland.  Fortunately, the injuries to Mr. Strickland and his son appeared to be minor.  Click here for more.

These types of hunting accidents are not uncommon and hunters need to visually confirm their targets before firing.  Fortunately, here the injuries were not severe but in may cases the victims are seriously injured or killed.
