Charlotte Man Killed in Wreck, Driver Charged

As reported:

Police say a suspected drunken driver caused a deadly crash on Brookshire Boulevard overnight.

The accident happened at about 1 a.m. at the intersection of Hovis Road.

Investigators say the driver rear-ended a Honda, pushing the vehicle into the intersection and into the path of a tractor-trailer. The driver of the Honda, identified as 23-year-old Maurice McDowell, died at the scene.

Police say 28-year-old Demaris Goodson is charged with driving while intoxicated.
