GREENSBORO N.C. (WGHP) – A woman died in an accident late Sunday night when a vehicle she was riding in slammed into a tractor trailer on I-40.
Officers said around 10:15 p.m., a car was traveling on eastbound I-40 near High Point Road when it hit the back of a tractor trailer. The passenger in the car, Latisha Yvette Jones, 26, of 322 Craig St. Greensboro, was killed in the accident.
Police said the driver, Janet Payne, and her 16-year-old son sustained critical injuries and were taken to Moses Cone Hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately available.
